    The film starts off with Ellie and her two friends, Karl and Monica, discussing an annual school-wide scavenger hunt. Meanwhile, Katherine Blake is preparing for her impending wedding to her fiancé Mike. Katherine wishes that Ellie would take more responsibility for herself, while Ellie wishes her mother would understand what it is like to be her. When Katherine follows Ellie to her room they fight over the hourglass and switch bodies. They must find the identical hourglass given to Katherine, but Katherine sold hers. Katherine goes to Ellie's school and Ellie stays at the house.

    Susan Cartsonis is an American film producer and the president of Storefront Pictures. She produced Firelight, Where the Heart Is, What Women Want, Aquamarine, Beastly, and Carrie Pilby, and was the executive producer of The Mistress of Spices and No Reservations. In 2000, she was named one of the top five grossing producers of the year by The Hollywood Reporter.[1][2] She is President of Wind Dancer Films.[3] She is also Senior Vice President at 20th Century Fox.[4]
